Our Story
After a long, cold day on the slopes, we found ourselves in a ski resort parking lot sitting on our tailgate. The water was quickly heating in the Jet-Boil. The mugs were filled with a powdery substance that Swiss Miss claimed was “hot cocoa mix”. When the water came to a boil we vigorously stirred it into our mug of powder. Not making it beyond two sips, we poured out our mugs onto a nearby pile of dirty plowed snow. We were done with a subpar hot cocoa experience.
The other instant hot cocoas we found in-store or online either required milk or had unnecessary ingredients. We don’t travel with milk (who does?). The solution: craft our own mix. We wanted simple ingredients, to only add water, and taste delicious! And that’s how Rocky Mountain Hot Cocoa was born. Now we bring it when we camp, hike, and everywhere adventure takes us. By the way, you may be wondering why we include two servings into each pouch. It’s simple, we believe that hot cocoa, like Beautiful Colorado, is an experience that is best shared.
